Denise M. Torres is a native New Mexican from Truth or Consequences. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico Anderson
School of Management in 1989 on a Presidential Scholarship and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico in 1993 on a National Hispanic Scholarship, graduating with honors in clinical law.
As a law student, Ms. Torres clerked for the United States Attorney's office. Ms. Torres was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1993 and began her legal career with Angel Saenz. Ms. Torres is now a
partner of Saenz & Torres, which limits its practice to personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice. Ms. Torres is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and has been awarded
Advocate status. She has been selected by her peers and included in the 2005-2006 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. She is also a member of the International Who's Who of Professionals, the New
Mexico Trial Lawyers Association serving as secretary, Uniform Jury Instruction Civil Committee, New Mexico Hispanic Bar, New Mexico Women's Bar Association and is a founding member of the Trial
Lawyers for Public Education which publishes information regarding individual legal rights in situations dealing with automobile collisions and insurance companies. She is a Past-President of the Board of
Directors of La Casa, Inc., a nonprofit organization which provides counseling to domestic abuse victims, their children and their abusers and provides a safe haven for domestic abuse victims and their children.
Ms. Torres enjoys boating at Elephant Butte Lake, scuba diving, golfing, and riding her Harley Davidson and Paul Yaffy motorcycles..
